Running For Rhinos

There is nothing sexier than a man who loves animals. I don`t mean the kind of man that says he loves animals, rescues a puppy and throws a meat eating BBQ to celebrate his new furry friend. I mean the kind of man that truly loves all animals, a man full of compassion and empathy for all living creatures, a VEGAN MAN.

In my latest YouTube video I had the pleasure of interviewing one heck of a sexy vegan man. This man is super busy in his new career, pulled in all messy directions with a new baby at home as well as two furry children, always lending both hands to a pretty darn demanding wife, and yet he still finds time to take action for the animals. Damn, yes, wife, sorry ladies, he is taken.

Ryan from Running For Rhinos has put together quite the exciting fundraiser for rhinos. Ryan has teamed up with a foundation specifically to help raise money to protect rhinos and elephants from poachers. This foundation puts loads of money into flying small drones in Africa with night-vision cameras to spot poachers before they can even do what they have set out to do. How incredibly cool!

Please check out my interview with this superman of a man --- LINK --- Video - Interview Running For Rhinos
For more information about how you can help Ryan raise money for such a great cause please check out his new Facebook page that will link you to taking part in helping these beautiful creatures stay safe and free in their own homes. His Facebook page will also allow you to share in his journey of running numerous trail races all over Ontario, Canada in the next few months. Ryan is passionate about animals and he is determined to help make a difference.

It has been ages since I have done a recipe blog post. Now that our little man is sleeping so wonderfully I have more time to do things other than chores :P

We love avocados over here. It was one of Liam's first foods and thus we are buying a lot these days. Avocados tend to ripen fast so we end up having a few too many ripe ones circling our kitchen these days. Chocolate to the rescue!!!

This vegan chocolate berry mousse is super easy to make and has only 4 simple and super healthy ingredients. I did not create this recipe (link to original below). I had some yacon syrup lying around the house and did not know what to do with it so Google did a search for me. I bought this up-and-coming sweetener because I heard it was crazy good, with health benefits and a low impact on blood sugar levels. I saw it on sale (it is crazy expensive) and thought I would try it out.

1 medium avocado
1/3 cup mixed berries (or berry of your choice)
2 tbsp cacao powder
1 1/2 tbsp yacon syrup

1. Blend all ingredients in food processor.
2. Eat and enjoy!

Our Vegan Pregnancy

Hey HEY HEY!!!

It has been so long since I have been blogging, too long really. I was vlogging for a while, all through our pregnancy. Now I am just over six months post-partum and here I am, BACK! :D I wanted to create a blog post that has all of my pregnancy vlogs for you to check out.

Being a pregnant woman was one of the most exciting experiences I have ever had. It was so much fun to grow, change and learn all about pregnancy and how our little baby was developing. I had a great time shooting these videos and connecting with other pregnant mama`s. I wanted to create this series of vegan pregnancy vlogs so that people are aware that being vegan is safe and healthy while being pregnant. I share what I ate, what supplements I took, my feelings, my exercises, my challenges and some very personal information with you all. I hope that you enjoy the series and if you are pregnant or are hoping to be pregnant soon, I wish you the very best with your pregnancy and your birth experience.

Being a new mom (to a human baby) is the most challenging and yet at the same time most rewarding (by far) job that I have ever had. I am grateful for this blessing in my life.

I will also mention that I do have a new series coming your way that will be on YouTube as soon as I get a chance!

Now for the VEGAN PREGNANCY VLOGS. Here are all of the thumbnails for my videos so that you can watch me grow. The links to each video are below each thumbnail. Enjoy! :D
